Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I submit a paper to AWPL?

Manuscripts must be submitted using Manuscript Central (http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/awpl)

2. Should I use a particular format to submit a paper?

Yes: use double-column IEEE style (LaTex or Word templates can be found here), since it is then easy for authors, EiC, and reviewers to ensure that the paper is less than 4 pages long and that figures are of sufficient quality to ensure good reproduction when reduced to the size needed for the double column format.

3. What is the best method to follow-up on a paper or to check its status?

Manuscript Central provides the status of a paper. If you need further information, please email us at awpl@ieeeaps.org.

4. Can I volunteer to serve as a reviewer?

ABSOLUTELY!!! First, please check that you have an account with AWPL Manuscript Central; reviewers are often selected by Associate Editors from our database. Second, you are welcome to email your resume to an Associate Editor that is close to your field of expertise (with a copy to awpl@ieeeaps.org), so that he/she can consider you and your qualifications when papers in your area of expertise need reviewers. If you need assistance contacting an Associate Editor for this purpose, please email us at awpl@ieeeaps.org.

5. Can the mandatory page charge be voided?

Only under extenuating circumstances can the mandatory page charges be voided. If you believe that there are reasons for you to file for such a request, please email us at awpl@ieeeaps.org. Note that only very rarely are such requests granted: if a prospective author knows before the submission that he/she may not be able to honor the page charge, he/she should limit his/her contribution to one page.
